SPANISH RADIO MINISTRY
ON THE AIR!

EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM
 IN OPERATION!

On Wednesday, December 16, 1998, South Georgia's first Spanish FM radio station began broadcasting, providing Christian programming to Southeast Georgia.

WKTM FM 106.1 in Soperton, Georgia will provide coverage to the Dublin, Vidalia and Metter areas with daily programs designed to meet the needs of an ever-growing Hispanic population in this region of the state. Many of the programs will be Spanish versions of popular daily programs like "Focus on the Family". Many other practical programs will also be aired in addition to music. To our knowledge, this is also the first station of it's kind in the region. The staff and volunteers of The Good News Network worked hard for several weeks so that the station could be put on the air before Christmas.

On Saturday, February 6, 1999, WBLR AM 1430 began broadcasting in the Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina area. This makes the third Spanish outreach station of the Good News Network.

On Friday, January 2002, WQRX AM 870 also began broadcasting in Spanish! WQRX serves Northeast Alabama.

On January 15, 2003 WJDS 88.7 FM also began broadcasting in Spanish! WJDS serves the Hancock and Greene County Georgia areas.

If your Church or Ministry would like to be a part of this ongoing missions opportunity, then please call us toll-free at 1-800-926-4669 for further information. Thanks for your prayerful support of this project!

The new Emergency Alert System (EAS) is now in operation at all of the stations. This new system will automatically broadcast any weather warnings or emergencies in any of our listening areas. Will we immediately transmit any warnings without delay, and are excited about being ableNWS logo to provide real-time weather information as it actually happens. Installing the EAS equipment was a requirement by the Federal Communications Commission effective January 1, 1997. The old "Emergency Broadcast System" is no longer in existence.

If you work in public safety, please let your organization know that all of our stations will participate in all EAS weather warnings without delay!
